Floyd Demorris Harper departed this life on Saturday January 11, 2014, at his home. He was the first of five children born on June 8, 1961 in the District of Columbia to the late Floyd Harper and Lucille Harper-Rose. Floyd was educated at Armstrong Adult Educational Center in Washington, DC. He was baptized at Jerusalem Church of Christ; Disciples of Christ of Washington, DC under the leadership of Pastor Darryl Rouse, Sr. Prior to his death, Floyd was a faithful member of Agape Reign Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor William and Delia Campbell.

Floyd worked for many years as a skilled Maintenance Technician and licensed Bounty Hunter. He later became a Self-Employed Media Entrepreneur and started his own company, "One-Eye Photo" which he enjoyed supervising. He was married to Sandra Harper for 18 years; of this union they raised their granddaughter, Sara Bryant-Harper as their own for the last 5 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his spouse Sandra Harper of 18 years; 3 children, Floyd Harper, Aqueba Harper, and Aquilla Harper; stepmother Emmandine Dickens-Harper; 1 grandaughter Sara Bryant-Harper; one brother DeWayne Harper (Kim); 3 sisters Dada Vines (Grady), Minister Fonda Casey (Minister Calvin) and Keesha Heath (Nicholas). He had a devoted brother-in-law Eugene Gadson and devoted niece Stefanee Haynes. He also leaves behind 5 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  Mr. Harper will always be remembered for the love of his wife, children, family and friends.

He had a favorite saying: "You sho is ugly!" He would keep you laughing and treated everyone as a part of the family. He enjoyed nature, being with his family, and most of all, capturing photos of the very special moments. Floyd, we loved you and miss you, but God loves you more.

A Message From Your Wife

The times that meant the most to me were the moments we spent together...talking, laughing, dreaming, just enjoying the day and each other...And recalling those times brings so many warm feelings...feelings of closeness, of caring, of love.

His Loving Wife!

A Prayer for Dad

Lord, Shepherd my dad today

In green pastures let him lay

To still waters guide his way

Restoreth his soul, I pray

Lead him through the paths of right

Through the valley give him light

When he's afraid ease his fright

With thy rod and staff lend might

Prepare a table of spoil

Annointest his head with oil

Give to him a cup that's royal

Let goodness follow his toil

And Thy mercy cease never

May he dwell in Thy house forever

This I ask in Jesus' Name, Amen
